Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or using SignEdge you accept them. Please read them. We’ve tried to keep them in plain English.
Who we are
SignEdge is provided by AurumCodeWorks. Who we are, our address and contact details: Legal information.
The service
SignEdge lets you upload a PDF, place fields for signers, send it to them by email, and download the signed copy with an activity trail. You must be 18 or over to create an account. Signers don’t need an account.
Starter documents
We offer a few short starter documents, such as a confidentiality agreement and a quote acceptance form, to save you typing. They’re general information written in plain English, not legal advice, and they may not suit your situation. Read them through, change what you need, and take advice for anything important. You’re responsible for the documents you send.
What electronic signatures can and can’t do
In the UK an electronic signature can’t be denied legal effect or be excluded as evidence just because it’s electronic (Article 25 of the UK eIDAS Regulation), and section 7 of the Electronic Communications Act 2000 makes it admissible in evidence. That covers most everyday business documents such as quotes, service agreements, NDAs, consent forms and employment paperwork. Whether a particular document is valid still depends on what it says and on any formalities the law requires for that kind of document. We can’t promise that a document you sign using SignEdge will be enforceable, and we don’t give legal advice.
Some documents cannot be signed this way. Don’t use SignEdge for wills or codicils; lasting powers of attorney; deeds that must be witnessed in person; documents that must be signed in front of a solicitor, notary or commissioner for oaths; or anything the law says needs a handwritten (“wet ink”) signature. If you’re not sure, ask a solicitor.
SignEdge keeps an activity trail (who did what and when) and a fingerprint of each finished file. We do not record IP addresses. That is useful evidence for ordinary documents, but it doesn’t verify anyone’s identity, so for higher-value or disputed documents consider extra checks.

Plans, payment and cancelling
- Free trial. You can try SignEdge free for 7 days or 3 documents, whichever comes first, without a card. After that you need a paid plan to send documents. You can still sign in, view and download what you already have. The trial never turns into a paid plan on its own.
- Paid plans. Solo is £8.50 a month. Teams is £29 a month and includes 5 people; each extra person (an extra seat) is priced by band, so bigger teams pay less per seat: £6.00 each for seats 6–15, £5.50 for 16–30, £5.00 for 31–60 and £4.50 for 61–100. The team owner adds or removes seats. Adding a seat part-way through a month is charged pro rata at once. Extra seats are a one-month commitment: a seat that has been added must renew once before it can be removed, and removing a seat takes effect at a renewal. Seats added in the last 5 days before your seats renew start at that renewal and are charged then, not before. The plan and its extra seats are one subscription, so they renew together on one date, shown in Account and on the Team page, and are taken as one payment. Seats are changed in SignEdge, so that your team and your plan stay in step. Prices are in pounds and include VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay. Plans renew monthly until you cancel. There is no minimum term.
- Payment. Paid plans are bought through Polar, who is the seller of record. Polar takes payment, collects VAT and sends your receipt. Polar’s buyer terms apply to that sale.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Account, then Manage billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t charge cancellation fees.
- Fair use. “Unlimited” means we don’t count or charge per document. To keep the service fast for everyone, each document can be up to 15 MB, 100 pages, 10 signers and 300 fields, and you can have up to 25 unfinished drafts. We may limit use that harms the service or other customers.
Your 14-day right to cancel
If you’re a consumer, you have 14 days from buying a paid plan to cancel it. If you start using the paid plan during those 14 days, you ask us to begin the service straight away. If you then cancel within the 14 days, you pay a fair amount for the service you’ve used up to that point, and you get the rest back. To cancel, use Manage billing in your Account or email hello@signedge.co.uk. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything in these terms.
Your documents and acceptable use
Your documents stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and send them only to provide the service. You promise that you’re allowed to upload them and that doing so doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights. Don’t use SignEdge for anything unlawful, to send spam or deceptive messages, to pretend to be someone else, to upload malware, or to try to break or overload the service. We can suspend or remove accounts or content that breach this, and we’ll tell you why where we can.
If you’re sending documents that contain other people’s personal data, you’re responsible for having a lawful reason to do so.
Personal data
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. For the content of your documents, our Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms.
Availability and backups
We aim to keep SignEdge running but we can’t promise it will always be available or error free. SignEdge isn’t designed to be your only record, so download and keep copies of completed documents. If you delete a document or your account, we erase it and can’t get it back.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t lawfully be limited, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we’re not liable for losses that weren’t a foreseeable result of our breach, for loss of profit, business or goodwill, or for whether a document signed using SignEdge is enforceable. If you’re using SignEdge for business, our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then and you won’t be charged for the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and its courts have jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
